Hanna Egger and Luca Kraus develop the concept of a webcam platform that offers travelers authentic live views of nature and cities. Initial discussions with Alpine regions and tourism associations begin.
The first version of the platform goes online with 15 webcams in Austria and Switzerland. Within the first month, we record over 8,000 visitors using the live panoramas.
Despite travel restrictions, the network grows to 50 locations across Europe. Demand for virtual travel experiences rises rapidly. We integrate city webcams in Paris, Rome, and Barcelona.
The network reaches 120 cameras worldwide – from New York to Tokyo. Partnerships with national parks in Africa and South America enable real-time wildlife observations. The user count exceeds 50,000 monthly.
Introduction of interactive maps, personalized travel recommendations, and a community feature. Users can share and comment on their favorite webcams. The platform is nominated for the German Tourism Award.
The network includes 200 live webcams in 35 countries. We launch a series of blog articles and travel guides that combine webcam views with practical travel tips. Monthly reach exceeds 120,000 visitors.
Every camera tells its own story – we make them accessible for travelers and nature lovers.
Valid from April 1, 2025
WebcamEntdecken is a platform for everyone who wants to experience distant places live. We collect and curate public webcams from the most beautiful travel destinations in the world – from the Alps to Tokyo. Our team consists of Hanna Egger and Luca Kraus, two travel editors with many years of experience in tourism journalism. We work independently, are ad-financed, and operate without tracking. Our goal: to show you genuine, unadulterated live views that invite you to discover for yourself.
We believe that travel sparks curiosity – and that live webcams can satisfy wanderlust while simultaneously inspiring new destinations. That is why we only feature cameras that are publicly accessible, do not violate privacy, and offer real added value for travelers. Each webcam is editorially reviewed, described, and placed in a thematic context by us. This creates a trustworthy directory for virtual discoveries.
Our content is aimed at travel planners, nature lovers, city explorers, and anyone who wants to immerse themselves in distant worlds from home. Whether you want to check the weather at the Matterhorn, watch the sunset over Paris, or observe elephants in the savannah – WebcamEntdecken offers the appropriate live access. The platform is free, ad-financed, and requires no registration.
We write clearly, concretely, and without exaggeration. Every article contains real locations, technical information about the camera, and practical benefit for the reader. We avoid empty phrases like "innovative" or "seamless" – instead, we say what the camera shows, when the best view is, and how to find it yourself. Our tone is friendly, factual, and respectful towards nature, animals, and local cultures.
WebcamEntdecken is operated by Hanna Egger and Luca Kraus. The editorial office is located at Friedrichweg 8. If you have questions, suggestions, or correction requests, you can reach us by email or phone. We usually respond within 48 hours. Our conviction: Live webcams open windows to the world – without you having to leave the house.
We believe that travel inspiration is strongest when it comes unfiltered and live. Instead of static images, we show what is happening right now – whether it's sunrise over the Alps or a rainy afternoon in Tokyo. This creates a real sense of the place before you have even booked.
Our platform relies on publicly accessible cameras in national parks, on observation platforms, and in city centers. Every stream remains exactly what it is: an unadulterated view. No filters, no ad breaks – just the raw beauty of the world out there.
Not everyone can spontaneously go to the sea or the mountains. With our live views, we enable a form of travel that leaves no CO₂ footprint. At the same time, the cameras help make travel decisions more consciously – you see the weather, the crowds, and the mood before you set off.
Whether it's a herd of elephants in the savannah or a penguin colony in Antarctica – our webcams show animals in their natural habitat without disturbing them. For us, this is more than a livestream: it is a tool for education, species conservation, and moments of wonder that you otherwise only see on television.
